Birth Wellness Festival

Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 September 2025, Murwillumbah Showgrounds, NSW

Celebrating Birth, Strengthening Community, Honouring Culture

Building Community One Family At a Time.

The Birth Wellness Festival aims to inform, educate, and support women to become well-nourished, happy, and healthy during pregnancy. We aim to provide information, resources, and skills about normal physiological childbirth that will resource women to make informed choices about their birth experiences.

Whether you choose home birth, hospital birth, or a midwifery group practice, we invite you to come and meet the dedicated birth workers who will be at the festival to share their wisdom and knowledge.

Our intention for this gathering is to foster a sense of belonging and community and to make families aware of the resources available here. We create space for you to hear from midwives, doulas and holistic practitioners to support you through your pregnancy journey. The format of the festival program is consciously created to allow you to be part of the conversation, share, listen, and connect with like-minded people. Day 1 covers Pregnancy and Birth, while Day 2 addresses Postpartum and family.

The Birth Wellness Festival is firmly grounded in the belief that the way we bring our children into the world matters. Join us in September 13th and 14th at the Murwillumbah Showgrounds in Murwillumbah, New South Wales.

Coming Together to Share Knowledge and Find Solutions…

Saturday 13 September

Preparing for Birth & Labour

We have an inspiring group of wise women speakers who will share their knowledge and experience about birth and women's health.  Saturday’s programme will include panel discussions, talks and education. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to join more intimate Birth story circles and the Birth Expo will showcase goods and services that cater to mamas, babies and mamas-to-be.

Sunday 14 September

Postpartum offerings, the Village that every woman needs

Nourishing the New Mama: You will hear from mothers, fathers, postpartum doulas and the practitioners who support postpartum health. Talks and sharing circles will focus on the need to create the village that every woman deserves after birth. How can we make traditional women’s medicine available to nurture every new mama.

The pillars of postpartum support are Rest, Warmth, Nourishment, Bodywork and Community. How can we hold the new mamas in our community so that they can rest recover, gain confidence in breastfeeding and attend to the needs of their baby.   The Initiation of Fatherhood: Men bonding with each other as they transition into parenthood, sharing stories and offering practical advice and emotional support.

The Dad’s Circle is a space for men to share their experiences of being at their baby's birth, navigating the emotional roller coaster of early parenthood; and exploring the dynamics of relationships postpartum. Circle provides an opportunity for Father's to be a listening ear for each other.
